CONCACAF Club Rankings - Top 25 Clubs in North and Latin America - April 30th, 2012
.) Sporting Kansas City (MLS) - A bye week helped Sporting KC stay in the top spot this week. They will be facing the Montreal Impact (69) at Livestrong Sporting Park this coming weekend. The Mexican Primera division clubs will begin receiving bonus points for being in the Liguilla, so any slip up by Sporting KC will drop them out of the top spot.
.) Santos Laguna (FMF) - Santos locked up the top spot in the Mexican Primera Division Clausura with a 3-1 win over Atlas. Even though Santos is not the top team in CONCACAF this week, this win helped them to go a long way to locking up a top 3 finish in the CONCACAF club rankings. Santos will be facing the Jaguares (10) in the quarterfinals of the Liguilla starting on Thursday. Santos was 3-1-1 in their last 5 matches.
.) San Jose Earthquakes (MLS) - San Jose jumped back in to the Top 5 with a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Union. This win also gave them the top spot in the Western Conference. The Earthquakes have not lost in their last 6 matches. They will be facing a hot DC United (22) club at home mid week. DC United has jumped 41 spots in the last 2 weeks in the CCR.
.) UANL Tigres (FMF) - UANL's 1-2 loss to Puebla did not help them in this week's CCR, nor did it help them in the FMF table. However, it did not affect them getting into the Liguilla. The Tigres will be facing the Morelia Monarcas (7) in the quarterfinals starting on Thursday. UANL was 2-0-3 in their last 5 matches.
.) Seattle Sounders FC (MLS) - The Sounders just barely edged out Monterrey (FMF) for the final Top 5 spot in this week's CCR Top 25 with a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Fire (MLS). Seattle has allowed the fewest goals in Major League Soccer this season. They have allowed 3 goals in their first 6 matches. This has been the key for them being in the Top 5. The LA Galaxy (29) will be coming to CenturyLink Field Wednesday.
