CONCACAF Club Rankings - Top 25 Clubs in North and Latin America - May 14th, 2012
.) Santos Laguna (FMF) - Santos was able to keep their top spot with a dramatic come from behind victory of UANL. With a goal in the 87th minute and another goal in the 89th minute, Santos was able to bring the aggregate to 3-3 (this was a little reminiscent of Manchester City's victory over QPR). This allowed them to advance to the FMF Finals for a CONCACAF Champions League Finals rematch against Monterrey (3). The two matches will be this Wednesday and Saturday.
.) Tigres UANL (FMF) - UANL was knocked out of the Clasura semi-finals with a heart breaking loss to Santos. This ends the season for UANL and their final ranking will be determined by how Monterrey fairs in the FMF Finals.
.) Monterrey (FMF) - Monterrey sealed a trip to the FMF Finals with a 2-0 victory against America on Saturday. Monterrey is already this year's CONCACAF Champions League Winners. They will be looking to continue their end of the season dominance when they face Santos Laguna (1) in the FMF Finals this Wednesday and Saturday.
.) Seattle Sounders FC (MLS) - The Sounders dropped 2 spots in this week's rankings after defeating FC Dallas 2-0 on Wednesday, but then lost 1-0 to Real Salt Lake on Saturday. The Sounders still have the best points per match rating in Major League Soccer based on their results in Champions League play and their 7-1-2 start. Seattle goes on the road this week to face the Vancouver Whitecaps FC (21). Vancouver is 3-0-2 in their last 5 matches.
.) Monarcas Morelia (FMF) - Morelia was idle this week after having lost 5-1 (aggregate) to Tigres UANL in the FMF Quarterfinals.
