CONCACAF Club Rankings - Top 25 Clubs in North America - March 26, 2012
There was some movement in the Top 3 this past week. With Champions League games later in the week, I expect there to be some more movement. For now, Santos has over taken the top spot in the rankings.
1.) Santos Laguna (Mex) (1) - Santos and Toronto FC (64) will meet on Wednesday in the CONCACAF Champions League (CCL) Semi Finals. Toronto is the MLS' last hope in the CCL. Santos will look to stay on top of the Primera when they face Toluca (17) on Sunday.
2.) UANL (Mex) (2) - There will be a battle in the Top 5 on Saturday when UANL faces Morelia (4). Not only will their match have implications in the CCR Top 5, but the winner could take over the top spot in the Mexican Primera Division.
3.) LA Galaxy (MLS) (3) - The Galaxy have had some time off, and they can look to stay in the top 5 when they face one of the worst teams in CONCACAF...the New England Revolution (69). It will be difficult for MLS teams to remain in the Top 5 this season, and the only way the Galaxy have a chance is winning these easier games.
4.) Morelia (Mex) (4) - As discussed above, Morelia will be looking to make some moves in both the CCR rankings and the Mexican Primera Division when they face UANL (2).
5.) Seattle Sounders FC (MLS) (5) - The Sounders look to remain unbeaten for the season when they face the San Jose Earthquakes (48) on Saturday. San Jose has had a decent start to the season, but Seattle will have the home field advantage. If Seattle does not win or draw, then I expect them to fall significantly.
